Thank you so much Hilda, and wow, what a powerful line: “Rose from the ashes of my divorce” . That says so much in so few words.
It’s incredible how life’s hardest moments can spark such profound transformation, stripping us down, yet somehow leaving just enough spark to begin again and become a more true version of ourselves.
Here’s to the beautiful phoenix you that rose 🔥🐦🔥
Thank you Melissa. Yes, it’s such a powerful realization when it comes. And in my case, I think my body knew long before my mind did.
During those years in Toulouse, I kept getting subtle (and not-so-subtle) signals that something wasn’t right… but I wasn’t fully connected to my body back then, so it took me a while to understand what it was trying to tell me.
Now I try to listen more closely, because place matters so much more than we’re often taught to believe.
A beautiful and inspiring piece, Maïlys! It’s amazing the things that can unfold when we let go and let the universe guide us. I’m recognizing a similar pull in myself these days, getting louder and louder. I loved hearing about your journey to the other side - it gives me reassurance and hope!
Thank you so much for your words, Ramya. That pull you’re feeling… it’s so familiar, and it often knows the way before we do.
Also, I read your Note the other day about the retreat you co-organized in Jamaica, and I couldn’t help but smile. It’s so beautiful to witness someone creating aligned spaces in a place that holds deep meaning for them.
Your journey is truly inspiring, and I look forward to reading your essay about it because I feel it might help me start to imagine what could one day be possible here in Corsica. As I mentioned to Victoria above, the idea of holding a retreat here keeps returning. So who knows what might unfold.
Thank you for your comment Victoria. Corsica has definitely been that kind of place for me… And it’s funny, because your last line echoed this idea that I’ve been dreaming about for a while, even if it’s not for the near future: organizing a retreat here, one day, where other women could come and experience that same kind of shift, in their own way, and at their own pace, because I truly believe that Corsica is the perfect environment to reconnect and realign. Who knows… maybe it’s already starting to take shape in ways I can’t fully see yet ✨
Sign me up! I’m there! Checking flights as we speak… 😂 Joking aside, I think it’s a great idea. Why not? I’ve always been drawn to islands. I think it’s because I live in an enormous city (London) but every time I visit Ibiza or Mallorca, I feel a pull towards something different. I would love to experience that in Corsica too.
Haha, I love this! You just made me smile so big 😊
I totally get the island pull… Corsica has always had that same magnetic, grounding energy for me, even before I moved here. A place where your whole being softens and opens just enough to make space for new ideas and possibilities.
I have no idea when or how yet, but hearing this makes me feel like maybe it’s not such a far-off dream after all. You’d be warmly welcomed here, no doubt about that! 😉
I loved to read your story Maïlys! In short.... My new version of myself rose from the ashes of my divorce

It's really interesting when you realise you don't connect with a space and look for your new one. Lovely piece.

Really beautiful. You make me want to move to Corsica! It sounds like a wonderful place to become who you were meant to be.
