A place for the curious creative souls navigating change.
✨Welcome to Sip of Corsica 🌊!
If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re:
In the midst of (or longing for) change or transformation, either creatively or personally, and looking for inspiration to guide you.
Seeking a deeper connection to your own creativity, your own voice, your own truth.
Exploring topics such as identity and self-discovery, and are not afraid of the messy middle. In fact, that’s exactly where you’re learning to trust yourself again.
Also intrigued by Corsica’s untamed spirit — whether you’re drawn to its natural beauty, unique culture, or the powerful feminine energy of this island.
Sip of Corsica is a place for anyone on a journey of exploration, whether that’s creatively, personally, or spiritually. It’s an evolving space where I explore how place, identity, and creativity shape who we are, and where I invite you to witness and sit with both the light and the shadow.
Who’s behind the words?
I’m Maïlys, a 44-year-old creative mother, writer, occasional photographer, and avid reader living since 2017 on the French island of Corsica with my Corsican partner and our 5-year-old daughter. My background is rooted in marketing and communication, having spent years in international corporate marketing and brand management before becoming self-employed in digital communication some 10 years ago.
I’m a storyteller at heart and have always been passionate about the human soul. That’s what’s leading me today to pivot to an even more creative and heart-centered path.
Sip of Corsica began as a whisper: a longing to create from a place of truth, not performance.
It’s now become a practice of showing up, sharing slowly, being authentically me, and letting my inner artist lead.
Through this newsletter, I’m reconnecting with my creative self and what truly lights me up, and learning to trust the unfolding of this journey, wherever it takes me.
I share this space not only to reflect but to create a space for others to embrace their own journey of self-discovery and growth.
What can you expect to receive as a free subscriber to this newsletter?
Sip of Corsica is not a travel blog — though you’ll certainly taste the salt of the sea or smell the scent of the maquis in my essays or photographs.
It’s a soulful storytelling space, not just about Corsica (though it is home and inspiration for me), but about embracing the messiness of becoming.
Through personal essays, reflections, and sometimes creative experiments, I invite you to reflect on your own path — to see the beauty in the transitions, the growth in the challenges, and the importance of trusting yourself through the unfolding.
Weekly or bi-weekly, I’ll share stories about:
Identity and transformation — how we shift, grow, and evolve over time, and what tools can help in your self-discovery journeys.
Creative exploration — the push and pull of trusting your process, your voice, and sharing your work with the world.
Corsican life — my personal journey of living on this island, and the richness it offers both in beauty and wisdom.
